The Penobscot River offers some of the best fishing and is known for smallmouth bass and salmon. The area also offers a Lumbermen museum, dating back to the 1820s. A 3-mile spectacular gorge. Gulf Hagas is nicknamed the "Grand Canyon of the East". That area has 8 miles of rugged hiking trails that meet up with the Appalachian Trail.
